The compact, space-saving design of the TM-U295 was realized through the use of EPSON Shuttle printing technology, which makes it possible to reliably print all common types of receipts, such as invoices or checks, despite the printer's minimal dimensions. The high demands placed on a receipt printer result from the multitude of different receipt forms, which often differ in terms of font orientation or changing print direction on the same receipt, varying font heights, and predefined positions for entries on the respective form. The TM-U295 offers the following options for this purpose: upside-down printing, up to quadruple character height, positioning via tabs, and the so-called "Page Mode." This allows, among other things, four different print directions and pinpoint positioning within the defined page. This makes it easy to precisely fill in predefined fields in receipts. The Page Mode also supports a page memory that allows individual print elements (text or graphics) to be precisely positioned and the printout to be activated only after the page has been completely assembled. This significantly simplifies software development for supporting various types of receipts. Furthermore, functions are offered that are generally important in a POS environment: control of up to two cash drawers, as well as checking/continuous feedback on the printer and paper status, and optional front or rear receipt output. EPSON provides OPOS drivers for program development, offering greater flexibility and performance in software development.
