The AS-3310 is ARTDEV's latest 2D barcode scanner model, combining 2D barcode support such as QR codes with wireless Bluetooth operation at an affordable price.
Its newly developed barcode optics, supporting both 1D barcodes and 2D barcodes like QR codes or Datamatrix codes, supports scanning ranges from close-up to long-range, depending on the barcode size. For easy selection of the barcode to be read, the AS-3310 generates a dot on the scan surface, which can then be positioned on the barcode for quick recognition.
To support credit or coupon codes, the AS-3310 also reads barcodes from smartphone displays, which means quick and direct interaction with the customer. This function is also interesting for use in access control or turnstiles.
The AS-3310 charging station also serves as the base station for wireless Bluetooth transmission and supports operating ranges of up to 30 meters. Its small size allows the ARTDEV AS-3310 barcode scanner to be used even in locations with very limited space. The barcode reader is charged upright and thus also supports the Auto-Detection function. This allows the AS-3310 to be set up so that barcodes on objects can be read without manually pressing the trigger. Safety functions, such as preventing multiple scans of the identical barcode within a certain time, offer maximum security and user-friendliness.
The Auto-Detection function has the enormous advantage over manual barcode scanning that the reader does not have to be picked up for barcode acquisition, leaving both hands free for the goods.
The scanned barcodes are transferred from the base station via a USB cable connection to the POS system or PC. This USB connection is normally also the power supply for the wireless connection or the charging of the battery in the barcode reader. However, because the power supply goes out as soon as the POS system or PC is switched off at the end of the day, the scanner is often not charged overnight and thus often does not offer enough power for a full operating shift on the next day of use. For this purpose, the ARTDEV AS-3310 is supplied with an additional power adapter that is responsible for the power supply and thus ensures problem-free operation on the following day.
Colored lights are located at the top of the AS-3310, visually indicating the status of the barcode reader. In places where the well-known acoustic beeps cannot be used - for example, in libraries or museums - the same confirmations are displayed for successful barcode scans, active charging functions or similar.
